I am interested in the Melvin Family. Andrew Melvin, my ggg was a farmer at Knockmore. His son, my gggrandfather moved to Birmingham as a labourer and his son,my grandfather, John Melvin, was a successful businessman. His son, my great uncle, Sir Martin Melvin,Bart, was owned the Universe paper and was involved in the Irish scout movement. He was a good friend of WT Cosgrave. Hi David, Thanks for this history. You said you visited in 2015. Did you get to have a look indoors? The builders restoration attemps were not very sympathetic to say the least. It looks like they raised the roof upstairs?

Justin, my father's relatives, Hugh and his sister Sally were Melvins who lived in Ballybrooney house in the fifties and sixties.
